AIRLINES

There are three airports that serve Las Cruces. By far the most convenient is the El Paso International Airport, approx. 50 miles SE of Las Cruces. The major airlines that serve El Paso are American, America West, Continental, Delta, Frontier, and Southwest. Once in El Paso, it is approximately a one hour drive to Las Cruces, proceeding west on I-10. Ground transportation for those who don't wish to rent a car is available through the Las Cruces Shuttle (please see below).

Las Cruces International Airport lies 13 miles to the west of the city. Although very convenient, Las Cruces cannot economically sustain a major carrier due to its proximity to El Paso and thus only has five commuter flights a day, all of which are to Albuquerque. The only airline that serves Las Cruces is Mesa.

The third airport is Albuquerque, 220 miles N of Las Cruces. The airlines that serve Albuquerque are American, America West, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Mesa, Southwest, TWA and United. Once in Albuquerque, it is either approximately a three-hour drive, due south on I-25, or a one-hour flight on Mesa airlines.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

All of the major rental car companies have outlets at both the El Paso and Albuquerque airports. In addition, Enterprise, Hertz and Thrifty maintain rental offices at several of the hotels and the airport in Las Cruces itself.

A van-based shuttle service, much like the SuperShuttle service that runs in the Los Angeles area, is also available between the El Paso airport and essentially all of the hotels in Las Cruces. The phone number for the Las Cruces Shuttle Service is (800) 288-1784 or (505) 525-1784. Reservations are strongly recommended. A current schedule and fare chart can be obtained from the Las Cruces Shuttle's web page.
