The first photograph taken by Sojourner's on-board digital cameras The front cameras of the Sojourner rover captured this image of the Sagan Station, although only the partially deflated airbags are all that can be easily seen of the lander. The digital cameras on board Sojourner are off-the-shelf Kodak digital cameras. The images are transmitted back to the lander for relay to Earth via a 2400 to 9600 baud wireless modem. The wavy lines in the image are the result of some form of coherent interference, generated most likely either by the digital electronics in the rover or the lander.
